HeyAnon Dao Governance Process

HeyAnon DAO Governance Framework

I. Overview

Governance in HeyAnon DAO is central to processing proposals related to protocol enhancements, new implementations, and modifications. Proposals typically start as discussions in the Idea Discussion Section of the forum and are further developed into [RFC] Requests for Comment in the RFC Section for refinement and community feedback.

Request for Comment (RFC) Thread

The RFC thread allows ideas to mature into proposals, providing a platform for the community to evaluate, scrutinize, and refine topics. Once an idea gains traction, it evolves into a HeyAnon Improvement Proposal (HIP).

Proposal Initiation

Before posting an RFC, community members are encouraged to initiate discussions on Discord or in the Idea Discussion Section of the forum. This step helps garner support and refine the idea. RFCs require moderator or core contributor approval to ensure structure and prevent spam. Contact a Contributor or Moderator if your proposal is not visible.

Proposal Posting

When an idea is well-formed, it can be posted as an RFC or directly as a HIP in specific cases, adhering to the provided templates.

II. Governance Process

1. Initiate Discussion

  • Start with informal discussions on Discord or the Idea Discussion Forum.
  • Once the idea has substantial backing, initiate an [RFC] thread for formalization.
  • Moderators will ensure proper categorization.

2. Post [RFC] Thread

  • Submit concise, evolving RFCs using the provided templates.
  • Engage actively in discussions, refine the proposal based on community feedback, and summarize changes regularly.

3. Mature the RFC

  • If the RFC gains broad acceptance after discussions, it transitions to a HeyAnon Improvement Proposal (HIP) posted under the Governance Proposal category.

4. Develop the HIP

  • Accepted RFCs become HIPs, linked to their supporting RFC for context.
  • HIPs are reviewed by moderators to ensure proper formatting and relevance.

5. Snapshot Vote

  • HIPs must undergo at least 3 days of community discussion before a Snapshot Vote begins.
  • Voting periods last a minimum of 2 days, with details provided in the HIP.

6. Voting & Implementation

  • Voting is based on qualifying token holdings.
  • A successful vote ensures implementation by core contributors.
  • Failed or invalidated votes are archived or revised.

7. Proposal Archival

  • Approved proposals are archived in the “Voted Proposals” section.
  • Any changes to quorum or governance processes can be proposed through the same workflow.
